Mortal Shell II release date, price and what's in the game

The confirmed launch details, plus a look at how much content is actually in the build.

Updated July 24, 2026

Mortal Shell II releases on August 20, 2026 for $49.99, developed by Cold Symmetry and published by Playstack. It launches on Windows (PC); no console date has been announced on the Steam listing.

The store page lists 15 supported languages. This database is available in all 15 of them, because the text comes from the same localisation files the game ships with.

How much game is there?

These are not estimates. Every number below is a count of what exists in the current build's files, which is why they may not match round numbers quoted elsewhere:

ContentIn the build
Playable shells9
Weapons12
Sidearms8
Bosses12
Mini-bosses30
Other enemies98
Tarstones77
Items89
Artifacts29
Status effects27

What carries over from the beta

The files include an Open Beta Bonus entry — a reward called the *Brigand Sac*, with in-game text thanking players for taking part in the beta. That confirms beta participation is recognised at launch, but the files do not describe save transfer, so we are not going to claim one way or the other.

Where the game files don't answer a question, this page says so instead of guessing. That's the whole point of building the database from the files.

Is it a sequel you can jump into?

Mortal Shell II reuses the shell system of the first game: you are a bodiless creature that inhabits the corpses of fallen warriors, each with its own skill tree. The build contains 9 playable shells, each with its own set of skills, plus the returning hardening mechanic tied to seals.
