Shield-bearing guardian who seizes enemy attention and holds the front line.
The Templar is Aion 2's frontline protector — a plate-armored fighter wielding a longsword and shield. Its job is to keep enemies fixated on itself: Taunt rips a boss's attention away from allies while the Templar soaks the incoming damage. Threat strikes such as Vicious Strike and Pummel keep aggro locked, while defensive tools like Doom Shield, Nezekan's Shield and Noble Armor blunt heavy hits, and Punishment and Judgment give it enough burst to stay a real threat. In a group it's the anchor every dungeon is built around, and in PvP a wall that refuses to fall.
A patient, control-first tank. Weave Vicious Strike to build and hold threat, pin priority targets with Taunt, then read the fight and pop Doom Shield and mitigation cooldowns to ride out the enemy’s biggest hits. It suits players who’d rather manage aggro and time defensives than chase damage numbers.
Inside the party, the Templar fills the Tank slot — your team relies on this kit for that responsibility.
Longsword & Shield is the signature pick — most builds are designed around it.
No — there's no faction restriction. Pick this class as Elyos or as Asmodian, your call.
Around 35 skills in total: 25 actives you cast in combat and 10 passives that always run in the background.
The kit performs in both, but its identity tilts toward the role above — meta picks usually fit dungeons and raids with that focus.
It depends on how comfortable you are managing cooldowns and positioning. Players new to the role should expect a learning curve; the payoff is significant once it clicks.
