Elden Ring Nightreign: New Multiplayer Version May Add Two-Player Mode Post-Launch

Elden Ring Nightreign is the latest multiplayer spin-off that invites players to team up and face tough bosses in the classic FromSoftware style. However, the game is strict about team sizes, allowing only solo players or groups of three. This may change after launch, as the developers are now considering a two-player option.

In an interview with IGN, game director Junya Ishizaki stated that the idea of a two-player mode was “overlooked” during development, but it’s now being discussed for a potential post-launch update.

Ishizaki added that even in three-player co-op mode, players will be encouraged to operate independently and complete objectives on their own. For solo players, enemy behavior and aggression have been tweaked to ensure fair combat without overwhelming encounters.

While duo support won’t be available at launch, there’s still hope it might arrive in a future patch. FromSoftware has already announced that Elden Ring Nightreign will receive post-launch support with additional bosses, enemies, classes, and features.
