NCSOFT has released the update notes for AION 2 on July 22, 2026. The patch shifts focus toward durability adjustments, reducing overall survivability, hard crowd control caps, and life steal mechanics across several classes. Additionally, the update introduces a brand-new Transparent Map navigation system, limited-time server transfers, and key quality-of-life additions including attacking training dummies and explicit crafting success rates.
Class Balance Adjustments
General combat tweaks affect defensive durations and crowd control mechanics. Life steal abilities now restore health based on damage dealt to a single target only, significantly affecting multi-target sustaining in open-field grinding and Abyss encounters.

Transparent Map Interface
A new Transparent Map overlay provides real-time navigation support directly over the main screen without blocking gameplay visuals.
Features and Overlay Details
- Displays zone terrain and walkable paths centered on the character’s position.
- Displays map markers for quests, shop, crafting, and storage NPCs, travel networks (Kibelisk, Spacetime Rift, Flight Circle), dungeon entrances, field bosses, and Traces of Aion.
- Hovering over any marker reveals target details, including altitude and remaining distance.
- Party and Force member positions are visible directly on the overlay.
- Available in major open-world territories as well as Sealed Dungeons, Quest Dungeons, and Party Dungeons.
Server Transfers and Shop Updates
Limited-time server transfers are active from July 22 through July 28, 2026. Applications are open daily between 20:00 and 24:00 server time.
Transfer Requirements and Costs
- Transfers can only occur between servers of the same race.
- Eligible characters must be Level 45 or higher and located inside a village.
- Characters cannot belong to a Legion or have active Legion join requests.
- Pending Exchange listings, unclaimed shop storage items, active Duty missions, or unread mail will prevent purchase.

In-Game Shop Additions
- Star Jewel Song Wings (Bound) added to Chapter 1 of the Subscription Pass Shop.

System Enhancements
- Village and Legion hideout training dummies now include attacking variants that use skill attacks against nearby players.
- A detailed crafting chance window is now accessible via the [%] button next to item recipes, calculating success rates based on proficiency level gaps.
General Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue preventing map pin usage within the Abyss Rift Zone.
- Corrected party removal notifications caused by channel rebalancing in the Abyss Rift Zone.
- Standardized Abyss Orders sold by merchants across all strongholds.
- Adjusted lava flower monster surface materials in the Muspel Volcanic Zone.
- Fixed mechanic display bugs for Vakron Helm and Tamon in Vakron Sky Island.
- Reduced assault pattern triggers on Gargaum in Abyssal Horn Den and adjusted Roar stack thresholds from 4 to 5.
- Fixed Spiritmaster pet fear application issues during the Basilus boss encounter in Citadel of the Fallen Daeva.

Does the Transparent Map work inside the Abyss?
The update lists major territories and instanced dungeons. The Abyss and Abyss Rift Zone are currently not specified as supported zones for the Transparent Map overlay.
What happens to Kina during a server transfer?
Only Kina held in the character’s cube inventory and character-specific storage transfers over. Kina stored in server storage does not transfer and must be moved before applying.
