AION 2 developers So In-seop and Kim Nam-joon hosted a massive information session on March 24, 2026. The developers highlighted a comprehensive suite of updates designed to enhance player experience and game stability. Significant fixes for the user interface and Abyss teleportation have been implemented, while a critical patch for server lag is scheduled for immediate release.
The economy is facing a major shift to stop illegal gold farming. A new Bound Kinah system will significantly combat illegal gold selling by restricting currency use on the market. This untradeable currency is earned through solo missions and dungeons, and it will be consumed first for all in-game fees. Players can still share Silentium with alternate characters via account storage, though auction house transactions remain restricted for bound funds.
Technical adjustments to character power scaling were also revealed. Numerical combat power ratings now more accurately reflect true character strength based on offensive and defensive statistics. Parameters like accuracy and critical damage now weigh more heavily, while the inventory gains an automated resource extraction tool with safety toggles to prevent the accidental destruction of valuable items.
Regarding gear progression, the current season has been extended. Unique gear stats can now be transferred up to twenty times during this extended season for better progression. Success rates have been stabilized after the seventh attempt, and players are advised to keep their unique equipment as a new system for heroic tier transfers is coming.
Combat mechanics are becoming more sophisticated with the introduction of Perfect Blocks, which allow players to negate damage and debuffs. Separating damage coefficients allows the team to buff monster hunting efficiency without ruining competitive player versus player balance. In competitive modes, combat encounters will be lengthened by reducing base damage and healing effectiveness while removing level based gear penalties.
Stigma progression is expanding, as every character can now equip five skills. Every character class has received a brand new Stigma ability to expand tactical options during high level encounters. Shard drop rates are doubled until early April to help players unlock these powerful new tools.
Class specific balance changes are sweeping. Gladiators enjoy faster animations but shorter invincibility windows, while Templars gain a defensive barrier on their dash and a damage buff based on their defense stat. Chanters can now grant group-wide immortality to prevent health from dropping below critical levels. Healers now possess a self-resurrection ability which aims to reduce the immense psychological pressure found in difficult dungeons. To prevent abuse, a thirty-second cooldown now prevents the consecutive chaining of invincibility effects across all classes. Spiritmasters now benefit from attack speed scaling, and Sorcerers gain an ice-encasement for emergency survival. Assassins see resets on their stealth abilities after player kills, and Rangers have received a massive forty percent damage boost to their charged attacks along with new lifesteal abilities. Marks of Markutan are now obtainable through standard expeditions to give players more freedom in their daily farming.
The cosmetic shop is being refreshed with maid outfits, animated cat tails, and ragdoll pets. The development team is introducing a variety of cosmetic items including animated maid costumes and unique cat wings. Furthermore, the Cross-server Chaos Abyss will now feature mixed factions working together despite the ongoing global chat restrictions. Participation limits have been removed, and the density of monsters in lower tiers has been increased for better farming efficiency. Elimination mode will be retired in Season 3 to reduce daily player fatigue.
Looking ahead to April 2026, the roadmap includes an official DPS meter and quality of life improvements for skill presets. An official in-game damage meter will be implemented alongside a streamlined preset system to reduce player grind. Finally, the team plans to host informal offline events in Seoul and Jeju to gather unfiltered feedback from the community.
