During yesterday’s State of Play livestream, KONAMI revealed a new gameplay trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the highly anticipated remake of the legendary stealth-action game. The footage highlights Snake’s stealth mechanics, disguise options, and intense boss battles. It also teases the return of the fan-favorite Snake vs Monkey minigame, which will be available on PC and PlayStation 5.
After years of speculation, the remake was officially announced in May 2023. It’s being co-developed by Virtuos, a studio that also worked on The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered for Bethesda.
The developers confirmed that the story will remain faithful to the original, while the controls have been updated for modern players. Users can choose between a newly designed intuitive control scheme or the original setup for a nostalgic experience.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, this remake brings a massive visual upgrade. Characters are rendered with extreme detail, including facial wrinkles, pores, and subtle eye movements, resulting in highly expressive facial animations.
