SEGA is diving deeper into Hollywood. Following the success of Sonic the Hedgehog, the publisher is now teaming up with Universal Pictures for a new film based on OutRun, directed by none other than Michael Bay.
A High-Speed Team
Alongside Bay, actress Sydney Sweeney joins as producer, and Jayson Rothwell will be writing the screenplay. It’s an unexpected but exciting combo for a video game adaptation.
No Story? No Problem
OutRun isn’t known for its deep narrative, giving Bay and his team a blank slate to craft a wild, action-packed experience without stepping on canon toes.
